"Go shawty, it's" week 2 of the Canadian Football League and we're in BC Place

Curtis '50 Cent' James Jackson III will be playing the kick off concert at the BC Lions home opener at Vancouver's BC Place.

Following in the footsteps of LL Cool J and One Republic, rapper 50 Cent will perform at the BC Lions home opener.

The CFL team's first home game is a week two match-up against the Calgary Stampeders on Jun 15 and 50 Cent will be there to get the crowd hyped up beforehand. The pregame concert will no doubt feature his hits like "In Da Club" and "Candy Shop."

"50 Cent’s resume at sporting events is also vastly impressive as he helped headline an unforgettable halftime show at Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, which awarded him an Emmy," the team states in a press release.

50 Cent also has a Grammy (which means he's halfway to an EGOT), a bunch of Billboard Music Awards, a Juno, and a host of others.

The rapper-actor-TV producer was last in Vancouver in September, when his "Final Lap Tour" came through town and took over Rogers Arena, with Busta Rhymes and Jeremih opening.

Following the announcement of 50 Cent's pre-game show, the BC Lions opened up ticket sales to BC Place's upper bowl with tickets starting at $20.25 for adults and $15 for kids.

"We very much look forward to another huge crowd to celebrate the return of Lions football and our concert featuring 50 Cent,” says Lions’ president Duane Vienneau in a press release.
