Another school is reporting a potential coronavirus exposure in Vancouver.
École Laura Secord Elementary School in East Vancouver has reported staff and students may have been exposed to the virus over three days, from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.
Contact tracing has already been completed for those in close contact with the individual, says Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH).
"Posting potential exposure events in schools is for public awareness only, it is not part of Public Health’s contact tracing process," they state. "Therefore, postings will be listed here after the initial investigation is complete, and only after affected people have been notified directly."
They suggest parents of students at École Laura Secord Elementary School continue to send their children to class as they would normally.
"Children and youth continue to be at low risk for serious outcomes from COVID-19, but research has shown missing school impacts mental health, social connection and learning outcomes," states VCH.
They recommend everyone who can be vaccinated get vaccinated to stem the spread of the pandemic.
VCH does not release who the case that was detected at the school was, or whether it was a staff member or student.
