Pedestrian in hospital with 'life-altering injuries' after collision in Vancouver

Police are seeking witnesses.

Vancouver police are seeking witnesses following a collision that sent a pedestrian to hospital with life-altering injuries.

A serious collision in Vancouver on Tuesday (Oct. 31) sent a pedestrian to hospital. 

The 57-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street at Arbutus Street and West 3rd Avenue at 3:20 p.m. when she was hit in the crosswalk by the driver of a red Mini Cooper.

She was taken to hospital where she remains recovering with life-altering injuries. 

"This collision occurred during a busy time of day where there would be a lot pedestrian and vehicle traffic,” says Cst. Tania Visintin.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is asking witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage to call VPD's Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
