With that bing said, there are many beautiful places to explore nature in Vancouver; however, not all of them provide the same breathtaking display.

Luckily, we've compiled a handy list of the best spots to soak in autumn in Vancouver, so you don't have to waste time!

Fall Foliage in Vancouver 

Stanley Park

It may seem like an obvious choice, but Stanley Park is considered one of the best places to soak in the changing leaves for good reason. Not only is the park enormous, but it also houses a variety of trees that assume a wide kaleidoscope of warm hues come autumn. Further, it has a number of beautiful water features, as well as playful resident squirrels to enjoy alongside the foliage.

Fun fact: the adorable, fluffy-tailed grey squirrels in the park aren't native to the area. What's more, this cuties are rank #85 on the list of the “100 Worst Invasive Species in the World” by the Invasive Species Specialist Group.

Van Dusen Botanical Garden

With a plethora of  beautiful plants, trees, flowers, and more, Van Dusen Botanical gardens offers one of the ideal places to soak in the change of seasons. While it does cost a small fee to get inside, it also provides a feast for the eyes. You simply won't be able to locate this number of beautiful plants and trees anywhere else.

Trout Lake Park

With a sea of red leaves painting a ruby lane through the park, visitors are privy to a breathtaking seasonal show. What's more, Trout Lake is located on Commercial Drive, so you'll be able to grab one of the best coffees in town in one of its local cafes after you finish your stroll.

Queen Elizabeth Park

It's as manicured and lovely as its name sounds, and it offers a multitude of beautiful fall colours with every visit. There are many plant varietals to view, as well as fountains, gardens and sculptures. In addition, it is home to the Bloedel Conservatory. The conservatory houses 120 exotic birds and over 500 kinds of tropical plants inside the dome.

The Sylvia Hotel

The iconic Sylvia Hotel is one of Vancouver's most stunning structures as a result of its autumnal coat. Attaining vibrant, multifaceted hues come fall, this historic building stands apart from a sea of concrete. It's also located in beautiful English Bay, so it's the perfect place see a breathtaking fall sunset.

University of British Columbia

UBC offers plenty of space to scope out some lovely leaves. Whether you've got time between classes, or you want to spend a day wandering the autumn wonderland, the campus will deliver in some decadent colours. Further, it gives you a chance to stop by the Earth Sciences building and check out the fascinating, 42 foot long reptile skeleton that they have strung across the atrium.
