Sick of seeing soaring prices at the pumps?

You're far from alone.

Metro Vancouverites have been contending with staggering gas prices for over a week, with prices hitting an all-time high on July 1.

On June 30, petroleum analyst Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, predicted the Lower Mainland would see gas prices rise five cents per litre on July 1 to 173.9.

McTeague noted a combination of the "Olympic Pipeline, [the] mechanical breakdown of Phillips 66 FCC unit [and the] demand due to [the] heat" as causes for the uptick.
