As the Lower Mainland heads towards the end of August, the summer weather is sticking around.
Monday morning (Aug. 22) will start cloudy, but it will be the only grey part of the week, according to Environment Canada. The federal agency is predicting a mainly cloudy start to the day, with the sky clearing around noon. A high of 24 C is expected in the afternoon, with temperatures inland reaching 27 C.
Middle of the week is expected to be pretty similar: sunny, highs around 25 or 26 C (inland that'll be closer to 30 C), and overnight lows only dropping to about 16 C.
Heading into the weekend, some cloud cover may return. Friday (Aug. 26) is forecast to have a mix of sun and cloud, which will stick around into Saturday. However, no precipitation is currently in the forecast, and temperatures are still expected to peak in the mid 20s.
With some wildfires burning in the interior of B.C. and Washington state, the short term smoke forecast shows some over Vancouver today (Aug. 21). But winds should clear the sky overnight and with even clearer skies on Monday.
