A three-vehicle collision in Kitsilano on Wednesday, Feb. 12 disrupted traffic and caused an Evo Car Share to land on its roof.
Vancouver Police Department (VPD) Const. Tania Visintin told V.I.A. that an Evo Car Share, a Volvo and a Mercedes were involved in an incident at West 4th Avenue and Burrard Street around 8:40 p.m.
Michel Roman works as a budtender at the ARCannabis Store at 1812 W. 4th Ave. and said he didn't witness the collision but heard the crash from inside.
"I heard two loud crashes - a sound I’m all too familiar with hearing on this corner on a weekly basis - so I knew what it was as soon as I heard it," he explained.
"The second crash sounded like the Evo flopping over as I could hear a loud crunching sound and I ran out the door to see the car rocking on its roof."
Roman notes that a massive crowd formed around the scene, with many people phoning the incident to police.
"I saw at least five people talking to emergency on the phone and half a dozen more taking pictures and videos," he said.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the VPD stated the "scene looked intense, with the EVO landing on its roof, but fortunately, there were no reported injuries."
