The family of two people who died in an apartment fire in Lynn Valley on Monday morning are encouraging people to donate directly to a GoFundMe campaign to support them.
The campaign that we told you about earlier this week has garnered $24,138 in donations at the time of this writing, and seems to be geared more towards a general donation to help all of the families who were injured and/or lost their belongings to the blaze.
CBC journalist Tina Lovgreen conducted this heart-wrenching interview (below) with the husband/father of the woman and child who died. It aired on Radio One's On The Coast yesterday afternoon. Hossein Koshkoye Delshad spoke with her from his hospital bed.
Lovgreen later shared on social media that the family is encouraging those interested in helping to donate directly to this GoFundMe campaign, of which 100% will go towards Hossein and his son. Not only are the two dealing with the tragic deaths of their loved ones, but they need financial help as they lost their belongings. They could really use our help.
There is a lot of GoFundMe fundraiser out there for the victims of the North Vancouver fire. This is the one the family wants you to donate to, if you so wish: https://t.co/iGEUoO0Vby #LynnValleyStrong
