While many Vancouverites were celebrating on Canada Day, the Vancouver Police Department's Traffic Unit was busy catching long-weekend speeders.
Sgt. Mark Christensen tweeted about their Canada Day operation, noting that the unit set up in the evening on the Granville Street Bridge. In addition, he stated that they stopped a whopping 30 speeders, and that ten were speeding excessively.
He also tweeted images of two vehicles that were towed for excessive speeding. The first, a shiny, electric-blue McLaren, was clocked speeding at 130 km/hr, while the other, a dark-green Challenger, was recorded at 125 km/hr.
