The blanket of fog that has covered Metro Vancouver for the past few days is expected to lift by this afternoon.
Until then though, Environment Canada's fog advisory is still in effect with the federal forecaster warning commuters that visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.
"Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations," the advisory states. "If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop."
Environment Canada also states the fog should burn away the afternoon of Jan. 25.
Never a city to pass up extreme weather photo opportunities, many residents shared photos of the foggy phenomenon on social media earlier this week.
