A protest that began Monday afternoon has continued through the night and into early Tuesday morning at the intersection of Clark Drive and East Hastings Street in Vancouver.
Vancouver Police shared news of the demonstration and the subsequent traffic closure via Twitter just after 3 p.m. Monday.
The protestors are supporting First Nations opponents to a natural gas pipeline in northern B.C.
"We are here to stay," shared Wet'suwet'en Solidarity, Coast Salish Territories (@solidaritycst) late Monday night, inviting people to join the group.

During the last overnight protest at this same intersection earlier this month, Vancouver Police had by this same time indicated to participants their intent to dismantle the demonstration, however reports indicate the police have not done the same Tuesday morning.
Because of the protest, transit has also re-routed bus lines that normally operate in the area of the closure.

Affected lines include the R5, 14, 16, 17, and 20. You'll find updates regarding the status of those transit changes via TransLink's Twitter.
On Monday evening, TransLink had to cancel all West Coast Express service between downtown Vancouver and Mission due to a protest group blocking the tracks at Port Hardy. That group has since dispersed and TransLink was able to run trains back to Mission in order to resume service for the Tuesday morning commute.
However, a protest on the CN Rail tracks in Abbotsford that began Monday has continued through the night.
