Emotions ran high in Downtown Vancouver today as a group of protestors blocked off the Granville Street Bridge in both directions following a rally at the B.C. Supreme Court.

The demonstrators were standing in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en nation by occupying the bridge hours after the protest began. As of 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 12, however, the bridge is now open to traffic.

Earlier today, Vancouver police stated that the protest was blocking the Granville Street Bridge in both directions, and they advised drivers to avoid the area.
