A 10-year-old was hit by a vehicle while walking his dog in the Thompson neighbourhood, and Richmond RCMP are now appealing for witnesses.

Richmond RCMP is appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle while walking his dog in the Thompson neighbourhood late last month.

The hit-and-run occurred at the intersection of Westminster Highway and Barnard Drive around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 23.

“Fortunately, the boy received only minor injuries and his dog was unharmed,” said RCMP in a statement on Wednesday.

However, Richmond Mounties said they are now looking to speak with the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision, who did not remain on scene.

A description of the vehicle is not available at this time, according to RCMP.
