Following a special weather statement from Environment Canada calling for snowfall in Metro Vancouver this week the white stuff has started to come down.
The statement reported that an unstable airmass moving over the coast may bring some "wintry conditions" to the region on Monday (Dec. 13) night and into Tuesday morning. Total snowfall accumulation was estimated at two to 10 cm. So far, residents in Burnaby, Coquitlam and Surrey have posted photos and videos of their local snowfall.
Heading into the rest of the week, there are a few more chances for snow in the forecast. However, many of the opportunities call for rain or snow.
Daily highs are expected to range between 3°C and 5°C while lows are expected to dip down overnight between freezing and 2°C.
