The tours for this unit must be short.
A Craiglist ad is offering up a single small unit for $700. Features include a private entrance, a window, a couple outlets and not much else. In fact, the 100-square-foot room is more notable for what it lacks, like cupboards, closet space, or water fixture.
"NOTHING is shared. No cooking facilities, but a microwave and a fridge are provided," notes the renter in the ad.
For a size reference, a twin mattress would take up 20 per cent of the floor space here.
There is a private bathroom (which isn't pictured in the ad), but it's not attached to the unit. The resident (or guests, if they fit) will have to walk out into the shared hallway and unlock it.
While the situation may not be the most luxurious on the market, it is cheap. At $700 it's one of the lowest-priced rentals in the city, and potentially has the lowest rent of any private residence currently on the open market.
