Have you been to Mistletoe Centre, Starlington, or Garland Way?
Perhaps, if you use Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain.
They're all locations on the updated TransLink DasherTrain map. The transit agency did one last year, as well, but has issued a new one for Christmas 2022.
The new map also renames communities in Metro Vancouver, so gone are Maple Ridge, Surrey and Richmond. Now you'd be headed to Mrs. Claus Town, Santa Claus Stead, and Reindeer Landing, respectively.
Along with the new names, there are also new graphics.
Classic names and nods to the holiday season abound, with the likes of Miracle on 22nd Street, Aberdeer, and the slightly tortured Turkey Ninth Avenue.
There are also the renamed train lines (like the "high-frequency sleigh service" on the Chestnut Line or Mistletoe Line) and messages reminding transit users about schedules.
The physical maps have been put up at five stations in the region:
-
Waterfront (Wreathfront)
-
Burrard (Blizzard)
-
Nanaimo (Silent Nanightmo)
-
Sapperton (Starlington)
-
Sperling–Burnaby Lake (Skating-Burnaby Lake)
