Vancouver Christmas lights displays are among the best on the continent, according to a new study.
Compiled by hotel chain Premier Inn, the ranking charts the top destinations for soaking in the festive lights by using Instagram hashtags and Google search data.
Vancouver is a top 10 destination for sparking holiday displays, ranking seventh overall, with a Christmas Lights Index Score of 38,864.
In Vancouver, you'll find lights aplenty at events and locations like Lights of Hope, VanDusen Botanical Gardens, and Stanley Park, as well as in neighbouring communities, like North Vancouver's Capilano Suspension Bridge Park or at Glow in Langley. Local sparkle-seekers can discover a winter wonderland at a 1 km light walk in Metro Vancouver this year, too.
The top spot went to Houston, Texas, as the only destination in North America to score over 100,000, with a Christmas Lights Index Score of 101,889.
Following Houston was another Texan city, Dallas, with a Christmas Lights Index Score of 72,421. In third was yet another Texan city, San Antonio, with a Christmas Lights Index Score of 61,013.
Another Southern U.S. city, Atlanta, Georgia, landed in fourth, with a score of 51,263. San Diego, California placed fifth, with a score of 49,700.
Known as the "Windy City," Chicago, Illinois rounded out the top five, with a score of 46,023.

London, England ranked the best in the world for its festive illuminations this year, with the top three U.S. cities -- all of which are located in Texas -- followed in second, third, and fourth.
Perth, located in Western Australia, rounded out the top five. While it has beautiful Christmas lights displays, tourists won't spot snowfall in Australia's sunniest capital.
