This unusual Vancouver rental is just the corner of a living room with room dividers around it

This is what you get in downtown Vancouver for $800

Finding a place to rent in downtown Vancouver is not always easy, especially if affordability is important.

One of the cheapest places on the market right now is only $800 per month and is located in one of the buildings around the intersection of Davie and Hornby streets.

That may seem shockingly cheap for a place at that location, but what's being offered is a bit unusual.

Instead of a private room, even a closet or a solarium, the space that's been created is simply a corner of the living room. To create a sense of privacy several room dividers have been set up.

The small space appears to include a twin mattress. While privacy is being sacrificed, there are some nice views of the streets below.

One odd thing about the impromptu bedroom is that it could grow or shrink over time, given that two of the walls are mobile.

The person renting out the space does have some rules to follow, as well: no parties, pets, or smoking allowed, and only one female renter will be accepted.
