Vancouver forecast includes showers, another rainstorm

Vancouver will see another rainstorm by next weekend

It'll be another rainy week in Vancouver.

Vancouver's forecast shows locals will get a short break from the rain, but not that long.

Showers are expected to continue Sunday night and into Monday, Oct. 21, says Environment Canada meteorologist Gary Dickinson.

"It looks like unsettled conditions are going to linger on Monday," he tells V.I.A. "There's a high chance of showers in the morning."

While the chance of showers will likely ease after the late morning, it'll remain damp through the day and into Tuesday.

By Tuesday evening, even the light showers will have likely stopped, but the grey skies will remain, Dickinson says.

Wednesday and Thursday will be the nicest days of the week, with a mix of sun and cloud on Wednesday. Cloudiness will begin to return on Thursday as a new rainstorm approaches Vancouver.

Another rainy weekend coming

Dickinson says the incoming rain won't be from an atmospheric river.

"From the weather charts we have, it looks more like a series of Pacific frontal systems moving across the region for the end of the week and into the weekend," he explains.

That'll bring heavy rain on Friday and Saturday.

Current predictions are for up to 30 mm on Friday, Oct. 25 and up to 40 mm on Saturday, Oct. 26, though that could fluctuate.

No temperature extremes

Temperatures throughout the week should be around normal, Dickinson says.

"We're not going to be breaking any records," he notes.

Highs will be between 10 C and 13 C, while overnight lows will be between 4 C and 8 C. The normal for this time of year is a high of 12 C and a low of 6 C.
