Vancouver police are investigating an alleged assault that took place on a soccer field over the weekend.
On Saturday (Oct. 23) around 4 or 5 p.m., a man was injured during a soccer match at Trillium Field in the Strathcona neighbourhood.
"We don't know exactly what precipitated this, and it's still under investigation," VPD Cnst. Tania Visintin told Vancouver Is Awesome.
While there were reports that the man was stabbed, Vistinin said that the "victim was not seriously injured and we can't confirm he was stabbed."
The suspects haven't been identified and an investigation is ongoing.
"Obviously, a very concerning incident to have happen in the middle of a soccer field," added Visintin.
