A video of a reckless 170+ km/hr race through Vancouver’s streets has given the Vancouver Police Department more than enough to work with.
Originating from an Instagram story, the video was reposted by Mark Christensen, a Traffic Sergeant with the VPD. The video is taken from the driver’s side of a Tesla looking through the windshield to the Toyota Supra on the right. Seemingly taking off shortly after a traffic light turns green, the speedometer on the Tesla’s screen quickly jumps to 100 km/hr just as the driver drives into the oncoming lane to swerve around another vehicle. When the video ends the Tesla is travelling at 172 km/hr.
When you post this to social media... going 170 kmh in Vancouver, I will guarantee you that one of your “friends” will rat you out! We have identified the Tesla...working on Supra, you can expect a visit from us in the near future! @VancouverPD @ChiefPalmer @VPDTrafficUnit pic.twitter.com/wPr7CW3oP3

Many replying to the video on Twitter pointed out how the Supra was speeding dangerously close to pedestrians on the sidewalk.
Imagine if a pedestrian walked out at a cross walk a few blocks away thinking it is safe only to be hit by one of these monsters or someone gets out of a parked car.

Others believed punishments for such reckless behaviour need to be more severe.
The law's need to be changed, I think they should loose their license for 3 to 5 yrs. (They can work it down volunteering at grief counseling centers or hospitals or something...and those Cars.. permanently seized!
