Zombies, along with other costumed characters, will be on two wheels later this month, peddling around the city's core.
The second annual Vancouver Zombie Bike Ride is on Saturday, Oct. 29, giving those who find zombie walks too slow and shambly a chance to pick up the pace.
The event, connected to cycle group Critical Mass, is a free and family-friendly chance for people to get dressed up, and dress their bikes up, too. In the event post for the ride, decorated bikes and scary costumes are "highly encouraged."
While it's a zombie bike ride, "ghouls, witches, wizards, sugar skulls and the undead" are all welcome as well.
The ride will start at 4 p.m. at Science World and will take a long, meandering route to Grandview Park (including passing through Stanley Park and Granville Island).
It'll be a leisurely pace, promise organizers, with a dance party mid-way through. The route is also generally flat and mostly in protected cycle lanes. Bicycle lights are also recommended.
The ride's end will also coincide with the beginning of the Parade of Lost Souls, note organizers.
