Drivers passing through Richmond may know to keep a particularly watchful eye for unpredictable behaviour on the road, but a runaway tire is certainly more unexpected.
Dashcam footage posted to YouTube on Tuesday shows a flying tire bouncing over the highway median and coming at a car head-on. The driver was travelling along Highway 91 heading into Richmond, just over the Knight Street Bridge.

“So this happened on my way home,” said the driver under their YouTube post, adding on Reddit where the video was also shared that they were “freaked out.”

Footage from the rear dashcam shows three cars swerving slightly to make room for the tire as it bounced down the highway.
“It looked like everyone avoided it safely,” said the driver on Reddit.
