Vancouver police are actively investigating after a driver failed to stop for police and caused two collisions in the Downtown core.

Two separate collisions in Downtown Vancouver sent two people to hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 8.

Just after 7:30 a.m., the driver of a grey Dodge Durango failed to stop for police on Burrard Street. The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) said that the driver allegedly hit a pedestrian near Howe and Hastings streets.

The driver of the vehicle continued to flee, colliding into another car near Robson and Cambie streets.

A woman in her 30s and another woman in her 50s were taken to hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver has not been located and police officers are actively investigating.

The VPD's Collision Investigation Unit will be in the area collecting evidence from the two crime scenes. The Independent Investigations Office of BC has also been notified due to the collisions occurring following an attempted traffic stop.

Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is asked to call investigators at 604-717-3012.
