Vancouver police are hoping to speak to the victim of an unreported sexual assault.

The assault is related to a series of groping incidents that happened downtown in April.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) Sex Crimes detectives first launched an investigation when four women between the ages of 25 and 40 reported being sexually assaulted while walking between 9 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. near BC Place and Rogers Arena between April 27 and April 29.

Although a 25-year-old suspect was later arrested, VPD is hoping to speak with another victim after discovering video footage of a woman being assaulted. This incident was not reported.

“We believe she was walking near West Georgia and Beatty Street around 9:30 p.m. on April 27 when she was assaulted,” says Cst. Tania Visintin. “Choosing to report a sexual assault is a personal decision. If this person comes forward, they’ll be able to speak confidentially with investigators and have access to services for victims of crime.”

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact VPD’s Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-0602.
