Vancouver police say a man allegedly took money from a fast food restaurant in East Vancouver on Monday (April 8) night.
Around 9:30 p.m., a man walked into an A&W at 1715 E. Broadway near Commercial Drive and walked behind the counter. After he grabbed the cash register, he smashed it open on the floor, took out the cash, and fled with it, Vancouver Police Department (VPD) Const. Tania Visintin told V.I.A.
Staff at the restaurant remained calm and called the police.
The VPD was able to locate and arrest the suspect with the details the staff provided. The officers also recovered the cash.
The suspect remains in custody.
