Watch: Violence at Vancouver trans-rights rally investigated by police

There were "violent confrontations at trans-rights rally" according to police

Vancouver police are investigating an incident and looking for witnesses after "violent confrontations" at a rally celebrating the International Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31.

"The incidents occurred when rally-goers confronted a group of counter-protesters inside Grandview Park, where between 75 and 100 people had gathered," states the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) in a press release.

Detectives with the VPD are doing a full investigation into the confrontations, according to the press release. This includes collecting more witness statements who were at the park and saw what happened but haven't spoken with police.

Police say they believe two people were assaulted.

In video shared by the VPD, two different moments were captured in footage from the rally.
