This isn't the first time that a Vancouver neighbourhood has been crowned as a voguish part of the globe.
Also ranked one of the city's best foodie neighbourhoods, Vancouver's West End was named one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world.
If built, these two unique, lush towers may make the West End even cooler.
The list of "incredible places to be right now" includes 51 neighbourhoods and was created by the travel-focussed publication Time Out using their Time Out Index survey which, this year, polled city-dwellers on post-pandemic life in each poll-taker's city.
The neighbourhoods were ranked based on "accessible, cutting-edge culture and nightlife; brilliant and affordable food and drink; lively street life and big community vibes," writes the article.
Published on Oct. 11, the list puts Vancouver's West End in 25th place.
"Once a quiet enclave for the elite, the West End is now boisterous," reads the article's generous description of the locally-loved neighbourhood.
"For restaurants and retail, you can’t beat Denman and Robson streets. Robson skews high-end, while Denman is the place for hole-in-the-wall eats. But the real colour here is provided by mother nature in the form of 405-acre Stanley Park and the aptly named Sunset Beach," Time Out adds.
According to Time Out, the perfect day in the West End consists of waking up at the "50s motel converted into a hip boutique pad with a palm-filled courtyard," called The Burrard, and then taking a bike ride around the seawall. The perfect day ends with a night out at Celebrities– Vancouver's biggest gay nightclub, according to the article.
They also note the annual Pride Festival and the Celebration of Light firework displays as must-see summer events in the West End.
In 2021, Mount Pleasant ranked 40th out of 49 "cool" neighbourhoods around the globe, according to Time Out.
