112-year-old heritage mansion hits Vancouver's real estate market for $19.8 million

Dubbed the Morgan House, it was designed by a well-known architect.

One of the original homes in Vancouver's fancy Shaughnessy neighbourhood is up for sale.

Dubbed the Morgan House, 3538 Osler St. is on the market for $19.8 million.

Originally built in 1913, when many of the homes in the First Shaughnessy area were built, the house was designed by Robert Fripp, an English architect who moved to Vancouver. Fripp was known for using the arts and crafts design principles. The Osler Street house was built for Frederick Morgan, a clothing businessman.

It's now a heritage property as part of the First Shaughnessy Heritage Conservation Area.

The house has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms over 8,400 square feet on four storeys. The property itself is more than 29,400 square feet.

"The main floor features an elegant and open family room with soaring ceilings, adjacent sunroom and reading room, a generous office, banquet-sized formal dining room, and a chef's kitchen with eating nook and butler's pantry," reads the listing from Sherry Chen.

Other amenities of the home include a sauna and hot tub.
