Portobello West’s annual holiday market happens November 25 – 26 at the Creekside Community Centre in Olympic Village.
Don’t get us wrong, we love spending time with friends and family during the holidays, but we’d be lying if we said that we weren’t most excited about the food…
Fortunately, Portobello West has expanded their edible offerings, making their annual holiday market one of the most delectable food-centric events of the season.
Whether you’re preparing to cook a family feast or are shopping for a foodie on your list, Portobello West has ensured that you’ll finish your holiday shopping with a stocked pantry and full belly. Here’s what we’re most excited about.
1. Seasonal sweets
The Cookie Fortune Company’s gourmet fortune cookies, (complete with quirky fortunes) are sure to be a hit at the dinner table, while Coconama Chocolate boxed chocolates will provide perfect host-gifts during the holiday party circuit.
More sweets: Baked and Dough, Short and Sweet Cookie Co.
2. Spice and everything nice
Chances are that you have at least one sriracha lover on your list. Well, consider their gift bought! Sriracha Revolver is a premium, all natural, sriracha-style hot sauce. They blend fresh Mexican and Thai ingredients together to make something new and delicious.
More spice: BobAli, Barrelhouse Brine.
3. Local wine and spirits
Is there really anything better than giving a nice bottle of wine to someone you love? Maybe, buying one for yourself? Pick up a bottle of handcrafted, sustainable wine from Rocky Creek Winery, or some premium spirits from Old Order Distilling Co.

4. Vegan treats

Need a mid-afternoon pick-me up? Take a break and visit one of the market’s on-site food trucks. This year, Disco Cheetah will serve up Korean-style tacos and O'Canadawg will grill classic hotdogs that are perfect for kids. Be sure to grab an insanely delish chicken sandwich from The Frying Pan too!
6. Snacks made with good will
Karmabitez Food Inc partners with local juice bars to upcycle their pulp into delicious crisps. Their mission is to educate, raise awareness and spark conversations on food waste, one bite at a time.
