Get your appetites ready, because Vancouver’s favourite food and drink fest is almost here!
The 2024 Dine Out Vancouver Festival runs from Jan. 17 to Feb. 4, for a fresh new edition stacked with 19 days of dining experiences celebrating Metro Vancouver’s world-renowned culinary scene.
Vancouver’s multicultural influences, along with direct access to fresh ingredients from the nearby oceans, rivers, valleys, and fields, lend to the city’s reputation as one of the world’s greatest food hubs.
This year, diners can expect to peruse through the multi-course menus of over 380 participating restaurants in and around Vancouver and the agendas of over 25 special events, spanning from exclusive dinners with guest chefs to cooking workshops. With a variety of programs hosted across Metro Vancouver, the annual festival allows attendees to indulge in delicious flavours and textures, embrace the rich tapestry of food cultures, and appreciate local culinary creativity.
Inclusive of all types of diners, each dining spot will offer multi-course dinners with fixed price menus ranging from $20 to $65, ensuring that Dine Out continues to be the largest and most diverse dining festival of its kind across the nation.
Here’s a taste of the types of culinary events you can look forward to during the 2024 Dine Out Vancouver Festival:
- A Dine Out favourite returning for 2024 is the Vancouver World Chef Exchange, a dinner series which shines a spotlight on international chefs from global culinary hubs.
- Street Food City, a celebration of local food trucks from Vancouver’s thriving street food scene, is back again and will be taking place from Jan. 20 to 28 at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
- Various food crawls will give festival attendees a chance to explore different food neighbourhoods in Vancouver – from East Van to Mount Pleasant – at their own pace. On Jan. 21, the East Van Brunch Crawl will hit up multiple restaurants throughout the Commercial Drive and East Village neighbourhoods as foodies taste all sorts of dishes and beverages. The Asian Dumplings & Noodles Fest on Jan. 24 will invite attendees to tantalize their taste buds at several Asian restaurants in downtown Vancouver, Chinatown, and beyond to taste different kinds of dumplings and noodle dishes.
Other experiences taking place across the city during the nearly three weeks of the 2024 Dine Out Vancouver Festival include the Spirit of Vancouver Distillery Tour, A Wok Around Chinatown Tour, a pop-up dinner at the Vancouver Aquarium, a restaurant collaboration dinner with L’Abattoir and Portage, and more.
To make the festival extra special, Vancouver residents can consider booking a staycation at a local hotel during Dine Out Vancouver Festival.
“Booking an overnight stay at one of the participating hotels makes things easier so you can enjoy that bottle of wine without worrying about driving home,” says Lucas Pavank, Dine Out Vancouver Festival project manager at Destination Vancouver. “It’s not as busy as a time in the city so when you book your staycation, you’ll skip the crowds and experience the amenities of each property.”
As a special offer for festival-goers, reservations made at hotels in downtown Vancouver during the duration of the Dine Out Vancouver Festival will be eligible to receive one $75 prepaid Mastercard gift card for each night they book (for a maximum of three nights). You can use the gift card to pay for your three-course Dine Out meal, or apply it to the cost of your hotel room, giving you even more opportunity to experience Dine Out to the fullest.
Dine Out Vancouver Festival’s full list of participating restaurants will be revealed on Jan. 9, 2024. Tickets for special culinary events are available now. For more info, go to www.dineoutvancouver.com.
