Vancouver's artistic heart beats louder this spring as the Vancouver International Dance Festival (VIDF) returns for the 2025 season. Running from March 5-15, VIDF 2025 will celebrate 25 years of presenting dance with no aesthetic boundaries.

Immerse yourself in a fun celebration of dance and dynamic artistry across cultures and styles that emanates innovation beyond the margins. You'll feel a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that invites you to experience the transformative power of dance with live and original music, while supporting Vancouver's vibrant local arts community.

From contemporary choreography that pushes creative limits to time-honoured traditional styles that explore cultural roots, VIDF’s more than a festival — it’s a gateway to the city's rich cultural fabric.

Engage with both emerging and seasoned artists, whose originality will stimulate your imagination and leave you inspired and enriched. VIDF 2025 features 25 performances by 14 local, national and international artists/companies — many of which break away from traditional formats and offer fresh perspectives.

These high-quality shows are held in accessible venues including the Roundhouse and Annex, (with three shows per day starting at 6pm). Additional events will be held at 312 Main, Morrow, Museum of Anthropology and Vancouver Playhouse.

Feel the rhythm. See the passion. Live the moment at VIDF 2025.

At VIDF 2025, you can expect a showcase of world-class performances and non-mainstream dance forms, including street dance, Butoh, Indigenous expressions, Bharatanatyam, and other contemporary works that blend performance with sound, costuming, visual art and film.

Dancers from Africa, Middle East, Europe, North America and the local scene highlight a deep tapestry of cultural backgrounds — artists that push boundaries to challenge norms, communicate beyond language and reflect societal issues.

Additional programming includes street dance battles, parties, offsite partnerships, classes and community workshops. For a complete list of artists and performances with dates, times and locations, check out the VIDF 2025 programme.

During the festival, you’ll find moments to relax, reflect and recharge while supporting a cause that impacts Vancouver’s arts scene for years to come. Each performance is not just a display of creativity but an opportunity to spark conversations and create shared memories.
