You can sail on a lavish cruise from Sydney, Australia to Vancouver at a steal

It makes stops in New Zealand, Hawaii, San Francisco, and Tahiti.

A cruise to Vancouver from Australia takes passengers on a spellbinding trip to numerous bucket-list stops.

Travellers looking to visit several world-class destinations from the comfort of a well-appointed cruise ship can enjoy stops in coveted destinations, including Tahiti, New Zealand, Hawaii, and more for just over $150 a day.

The 33-day Tahiti, Hawaii and South Pacific Crossing with Princess Cruises departs from Sydney, Australia on April 11, 2025, and spends four days at sea before making a pair of stops in New Zealand in Tauranga and Auckland (see slide two).

After crossing the international dateline, passengers spend a few days at sea before stopping in Pago Pago in American Samoa. After three more days at sea, the itinerary includes an overnight in dreamy Papeete, Tahiti.

After a stop in Moorea in the Society Islands, the ship spends five days at sea before overnighting in Honolulu, Hawaii. After another five sea days, the itinerary transitions into a Pacific coastal starting in Los Angeles on May 7. The ship stops in San Diego the following day and then in San Francisco the next.

After a final stop in Victoria, the ship sails into Canada Place cruise terminal in Vancouver on May 13.

Cruise to Vancouver from Australia with Princess

The total cost for an interior stateroom for two people is $9,618.60 or $4,809.30 per person (see slide four).

The price works out to a jaw-dropping $145.74 per diem, which includes transportation on a beautiful five-star vessel, meals, entertainment, snacks, and lodging. The only thing it doesn’t factor in is alcohol, but you may opt to purchase a drink package that can reduce the cost of your spending.

The Royal Princess doesn't have oceanview accommodation but travellers can upgrade to a balcony, mini-suite, or suite.

Flight from Vancouver to Sydney, Australia

Flights from Vancouver to the Land Down Under can be notoriously pricey. Most locals expect to pay over $1,100 for a one-way trip with stops.

According to Google Flights, the least expensive round-trip flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Sydney International Airport (SYD) typically cost between $1,550 and $2,700.

While a ticket under $1,500 might be a great deal for travellers headed to the other side of the globe, buying two tickets — with one heading to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) — allows them to save significantly more.

Travellers may want to break up their time in Hawaii and Australia before the cruise. By booking two separate flights, they can save upwards of $500 on the one-way itinerary.

For example, a flight from Vancouver to Honolulu with WestJet on April 4 costs $211 (see slide five), and one from Honolulu to Sydney on April 7 with Jetstar costs $151 (see slide six).

Hotel prices range from under $100 a night to several thousand, offering everything from "bare bones" accommodation to some of the world's top hotels.
