Sail on a luxury cruise from Sydney, Australia to Vancouver at a steal

The cruise also stops in New Zealand, Tahiti, and American Samoa.

Space is filling up on one of the top long-haul cruises to Vancouver in 2025.

Princess Cruises offers an epic 33-day voyage from Sydney, Australia to Canada Place departing on April 11 that makes stops in Tauranga and Auckland, New Zealand before cruising across the International Dateline (see slide two)

Passengers spend a few days at sea before stopping in Pago Pago in American Samoa. After three more days at sea, the itinerary includes an overnight in dreamy Papeete, Tahiti.

After a stop in Moorea in the Society Islands, the ship spends five days at sea before overnighting in Honolulu, Hawaii. After another five sea days, the itinerary transitions into a Pacific coastal starting in Los Angeles on May 7. The ship stops in San Diego the following day and then in San Francisco the next.

Travellers stop in Victoria on May 12 before the ship disembarks in Vancouver the following day.

The five-star Royal Princess features the cruise line's largest top-deck pool with an evening water and light show, mini-golf, movies under the stars, renowned spa treatments, a disco, nine bars, tennis and much more.

Interior cabins on the Royal Princess are still available for travellers looking for lead-in prices on the long voyage.

The interior stateroom costs $5,458 per person and the balcony stateroom costs $6,870; there are no oceanview cabins on the Royal (see slide three).

Mini-suites start at $8,137 per person; the larger suites are already sold out.

The total cost for an interior stateroom for two people is $10,915 or $5,458.50 per person. The cruise breaks down to $165.40 per diem per person. This price includes transportation on a beautiful five-star vessel, meals, entertainment, snacks, and lodging (see slide four).

Travellers who drink alcohol can buy a drink package to reduce drink costs.

Flight from Vancouver to Sydney

Air Canada offers daily direct flights to Sydney for roughly $1,000 (when booked in advance). However, savvy travellers can add a Hawaiian stopover to their trip to reduce the cost of their ticket.

For example, a direct flight from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) on April 3 costs $175 through WestJet (see slide four).

Travellers spend several days lounging at the beach and enjoying Waikiki's nightlife before boarding a JetStar flight from HNL to Sydney International Airport (SYD) on April 7 for $246 (see slide five). Visitors have a few days to enjoy the bucket-list coastal capital before boarding the cruise on April 11.

The ticket costs $421 or less than half the price of a regular one-way flight with Air Canada.
