Metro Vancouverites postponing trips to sunny destinations in the United States can find low-cost package vacations to Mexico right now.
Numerous vacation providers offer all-inclusive packages with flights, hotel, transfers, meals, and alcohol included in the cost. However, travellers can save money if they book the flight and hotel separately, particularly if they plan to go out or go on excursions that will take them away from a resort.
Flights from Vancouver to Puerto Vallarta are cheap for folks looking for a holiday coming soon. They are also direct, meaning travellers can avoid a lengthy stopover.
A flight departing Vancouver on Sunday, April 13, and returning on Saturday, April 19, costs $299 if booked through third-party supplier BudgetAir (see slide two).
Travellers booking directly through Flair Airlines can pay slightly less depending on availability. A few of the cheapest tickets are available for as little as $281.82 (see slide three).
Accommodation options in Puerto Vallarta
Expedia offers the Hampton Inn By Hilton Nuevo Vallarta from Sunday, April 13 to Saturday, April 19 for two people at $934. The three-star accommodation is described as a "Mediterranean hotel" and includes a free daily breakfast. A fitness centre is also available on the property.
The total cost of the flight and hotel package is $1,500 for two people or $750 per person (see slide four).
Travellers can check out a variety of other options if they prefer to save some money on their holiday, or if they want to splurge for fancier accommodation.
For instance, budget travellers can find accommodation for as little as $27 per night, per person at the Hotel Luna Vallarta. For $31, they can get a small 1-bedroom home, or for $34 nightly per guest there's a Puerto Vallarta studio with air conditioning (see slide five).
On the other end of the spectrum, travellers who prefer posh places to stay can look at well-known luxury chains such as the Four Seasons Resort Punta de Mita, which costs $2,402 per person per night. The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort is another high-end selection, costing $2,316 (see slide six).
