Wild Rose Opens Shiny New Brewery
Wednesday night saw the grand opening of Wild Rose Brewery’s new facility just off of 52nd Street in the Southeast industrial park. Fitting as that area of town is where it got its start, before they grew into the Currie Barracks location. It was a great night and an even better opportunity to get a close look at their new home. It’s been a big month for the now 18-year-old brewery. They’ve launched new brews (Electric Ave and Natural Born Keller), they’ve redesigned their packaging and relaunched their website.

heART TO: Around 1914: Design in a New Age at the ROM
Opening March 29th at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto is a centennial exhibit looking back at the ROM’s decorative arts collections from the time of the museum’s opening. Works by artists Jensen, Tiffany, Lloyd Wright, Bugatti, Knox, Dresser, Emile Gallé, Hoffman and more will be on display.

Stunning Rodney Graham Chandelier to be Installed Under the Granville Bridge #GWERK
If it sounds crazy that a gigantic Rodney Graham chandelier is getting installed under the Granville Street bridge, it’s because it is. Crazy awesome, that is. This spinning chandelier concept by artist Rodney Graham is going to be unveiled at the Gesamtkunstwerk exhibition which open March 22nd.

The Fishy History of Rainbow Trout in Whistler
The rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is native to streams, rivers, and lakes along the west coast of North America from Alaska to northern Mexico. This fish can live its entire life in freshwater when confined to land-locked bodies of water, but it also has a migratory form, known as steelhead trout, which feeds at sea before returning to its birthplace to spawn. The rainbow trout is notable because it has been widely introduced throughout the world – non-native populations can now be found on every continent except Antarctica.
