If London is calling you, these 2024 prices are answering.
England's capital city draws tourists in droves, offering a bounty of coveted attractions, including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, and the National Gallery, as well as expansive shopping options, a vibrant nightlife scene, and much more.
In December 2023, WestJet was offering hundreds of dollars off of tickets on flights connecting Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR). Prices have dipped even slightly lower but should start to climb in the coming weeks.
For example, a one-way flight that departs from Vancouver on Feb. 1 costs $232 including via third-party supplier ly.com. Unfortunately, the ultra-low-cost deal includes two stopovers and one of them is an overnight stay in Kelowna. However, this price is $240 cheaper than a typical one-way ticket from YVR, according to Google Flights.
If you don't want to involve the madness of two stopovers -- and an overnight one at that -- a ticket that only costs about $20 more cuts your travel time significantly. The trip also departs on Feb. 1 and the one-way ticket with a layover just under two hours in Calgary costs $251 including all taxes and fees. This deal is also hundreds of dollars less than what you would pay for similar trips.
Round-trip flights connecting Vancouver and London, England
WestJet's return trips on the route cost about $455 cheaper than usual on select dates, according to Google Flights.
A flight that departs Vancouver on Feb. 3 and returns 10 days later from London on Feb. 13 costs $642.74 including tax. However, it does involve two stops on the outbound journey, including an overnight stop in Edmonton. The return flight home from London only involves one stop.
Travellers only need to pay around $20 for an itinerary on the same dates with one stop and avoid long layovers.
