Asian cities dominate the most popular international destinations for travellers from Vancouver flying in 2025, according to one booking platform.
Third-party travel supplier FlightHub analyzed data on trips booked in 2024 from Vancouver International Airport (YVR), including the top domestic and international destinations.
Travellers booked most of 2025's international and domestic trips between October and December 2024, with December seeing the highest volume.
Top domestic destinations from Vancouver
Travellers flying out of YVR favoured travel outside the province, with Alberta topping the list of domestic destinations. Ontario received the second-most flight bookings on the platform.
Provincial travel was the third most popular among Metro Vancouver travellers, with 16 per cent of flights from YVR headed to airports across B.C.
According to the company, Gen Z bought most of the domestic tickets in 2024, representing 35 per cent of trips booked. Millennials bought the second-most tickets (28 per cent), with Gen X rounding out the top three (22 per cent).

- British Columbia – 16 per cent of flights
- Quebec – seven per cent of flights
- Manitoba – five per cent of flights
The most popular route from YVR flies to Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ), with ticket prices averaging $260.
FlightHub's average ticket for domestic travel is $190.
Top international destinations from Vancouver
While Gen Z booked the lion's share of flights from YVR in 2024, they didn't crack the top three age groups for fights booked internationally.
Millennials bought the most tickets to international cities, representing 31 per cent of trips booked. Gen X followed in second, booking 28 per cent of trips.
Boomers purchased the third-most tickets from YVR to destinations around the world, booking 21 per cent of trips in 2024.
The top countries visited by Metro Vancouverites include the United States with 20 per cent of tickets booked, the Philippines with 12 per cent, India with nine per cent, Mexico with seven per cent, and Thailand with five per cent.
Ticket prices from YVR to cities across the U.S. averaged $345, while ones to the Philippines averaged $1,312. Tickets to India from YVR averaged $1,551, while trips to Mexico averaged $558. Flights to Thailand from Vancouver averaged $1,330.
Vietnam, Japan, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan were the sixth to tenth most flown to countries by local travellers.
The route from YVR to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in Manila was the most popular in 2024, according to FlightHub.
