Locals looking to fly from Vancouver to Paris can still snag ultra-low-cost tickets for travel during the "off-season."
If you're looking to have your Emily in Paris moment by the Eiffel Tower or check out Disneyland Paris, tickets to the French capital cost over 50 per cent less than they do during the rest of the year.
And if you want to venture underneath the ground into the Paris Catacombs, it won't even matter if it's raining -- but the City of Lights still glimmers in the rain, too.
The least expensive flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) typically cost between $$1,050 and $2,050, according to Google Flights.
Right now, however, return trips cost a fraction of that price, with round-trip tickets starting at around $500.
For example, a trip that departs Vancouver on March 6, 2024, and returns a week later on March 13, 2024, costs $499 including all taxes and fees with WestJet. While a third-party supplier is offering this ultra-low price, it only costs marginally more to book through the airline directly (at $525).
This trip involves a couple of stops on the outbound and one on the way home.
One-way tickets from YVR to CDG start at just $234 including all taxes and fees.
The WestJet Black Friday Sale also kicked off ahead of American Thanksgiving, with its discounted options available for purchase through Sunday, Nov. 26 at 10:59 p.m.
Travellers looking to fly direct will find round-trip options with France's flagship carrier for only about $100 more than they'd pay for an option with stopovers.
For instance, a flight that departs YVR on Feb. 6, 2024, and returns a week later from CDG on Feb. 13, 2024, costs $612 including all taxes and fees with Air France.
Looking to score tickets to the Paris Olympics in 2024?
Unfortunately, tickets for flights that travel to Paris during the Summer Olympics cost a pretty penny.
The global sporting event runs from July 26 through Aug. 11, 2024, and return tickets from YVR start at over $1,100. Air Canada has a couple of options that only include one stopover and cost around $1,200.
