Canada's biggest airlines are offering free changes to flights visiting airports currently impacted by winter storms.
Air Canada, WestJet, and Porter Airlines have issued complimentary waivers for travellers impacted by severe weather in eastern North America, including top Canadian cities such as Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, and Quebec City, as well as major U.S. ones like New York City, Chicago, Washington, Boston, and Philidelphia.
Travellers with flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) may change their flights free of charge to affected airports.
Here's a breakdown of what is available and what passengers booked for travel should do for each of the airlines.
Air Canada
Canada's flag carrier will allow travellers to make a complimentary change to flights on Thursday, Feb. 6 for flights to Boston, Halifax, Montreal, Newark (EWR), New York (JFK), New York (LGA), Ottawa, Philadelphia, Quebec City, Toronto (YTZ), Toronto (YYZ), Washington (DCA), and Washington (IAD) due to winter operational conditions or snow.
They can also make these changes for flights headed to Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa on Feb. 8 and 9, due to snow.
