A snowfall warning has been issued for Metro Vancouver. Currently heavy flurries are being observed over Metro Vancouver, and the region can expect 5 cm of snowfall late this afternoon.
However, cold air will remain in place over the North Shore, Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, as well as northern sections of Langley and Surrey. Additional snowfall accumulations of 10 cm are expected over these areas tonight as a result.

- Metro Vancouver - central including the City of Vancouver Burnaby and New Westminster
- Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
- Metro Vancouver - northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge
- Metro Vancouver - southeast including Surrey and Langley
- Metro Vancouver - southwest including Richmond and Delta
The snow will ease to scattered showers or flurries Thursday.***
Environment Canada is calling for some powerful winds Wednesday evening after Vancouver received a dumping of snowfall on Tuesday night.
The department notes that strong winds that may cause damage are expected as a deep low pressure system will cross Vancouver Island tonight. Southeast winds of 70 to 90 km/h are expected to develop over Greater Victoria early in the evening that will then spread to the rest of the Inner South Coast later in the evening.

- Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
- Metro Vancouver - southeast including Surrey and Langley
- Metro Vancouver - southwest including Richmond and Delta
Winds will shift abruptly to the southwest late overnight or Thursday morning in the wake of the low with gusty winds. However, the winds are expected to ease Thursday morning.
The Metro Vancouver weather forecast also calls for a couple more centimetres of snowfall during the day Wednesday with a daytime high of zero degrees. With this in mind, temperatures will feel more like -8 with the wind chill.
Overnight, flurries are expected to become mixed with a few rain showers. Total snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 cm are expected. Near the water winds will gust to 90 km/h late this evening and overnight.Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
