Some Richmond roads are about to get a lot more colourful. The city has unveiled the winners of this year's street banner contest.
10 local artists' designs were chosen, with more than 650 submissions and over 4,000 votes cast by the public. Entries had to represent distinct themes: resilience, community, connection, wellness, active living, urban landscape, nature, sustainability, island city, or the arts.
Banners will be displayed along several major Richmond streets from the beginning of March to early 2022.
The annual program is a civic beautification initiative that engages the community to submit creative and visually appealing designs taken from around the city.
