The 7-day Metro Vancouver weather forecast includes sunshine and higher temperatures in the week starting on Feb. 25, 2025, but rain is expected on the weekend.

The Metro Vancouver weather forecast includes some dry days following a drenched weekend.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Lisa Erven tells V.I.A. that locals may see some showers on Tuesday, Feb. 25 afternoon but conditions are expected to be dry in the evening.

A ridge of high pressure has moved into the Lower Mainland following a low-pressure system over the weekend, bringing temperatures two to five degrees above seasonal averages.

The seasonal averages for this time of year are a high of 8 C and a low of 2 C, according to Environment Canada's historical weather data. Temperatures are expected to climb as high as 13 C and as low as 7 C on Wednesday.

Dry conditions are expected to persist through Friday and a weakening frontal system is expected to bring modest rainfall to the region over the weekend. The system will move down the coast from the north, bringing temperatures down closer to seasonal averages, Erven explained.

Metro Vancouver weather forecast includes weekend rain

Periods of rain are expected through Saturday, although some showers may persist overnight into Sunday. Dry conditions are expected heading into next week, with near-normal temperatures expected on the south coast in March.

The rest of B.C. is expected to see moderate to above-normal temperatures for the month.

"March is a dynamic month," she notes. "Any type of weather is possible. We can't rule out the return of cold air or warmer conditions."

Erven added that there is no snow in the short-term forecast but it is still possible to see it in the Lower Mainland in March.

"During spring we move from one extreme to another. There is a probability of getting late-season cold or warmer weather...and thunderstorms enter the mix," she says.
