Vancouverites must endure more stormy weather before the sun shines this week.
Starting on Monday, June 3, V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 14 C and a low of 11 C with rain expected throughout the day and overnight. Rainfall amounts are expected to reach around 20 mm (see slide two).
Environment Canada meteorologist Chris Doyle said the wet weather follows an atmospheric river on the weekend that drenched the B.C. coast with 20 to 40 mm of rainfall.
Monday isn't expected to see as much precipitation but showers will continue on and off across the region. Strong 30/km winds gusting up to 50 km/h and 70 km/h in the Strait of Georgia should accompany the rainfall overnight. However, they won't meet the criteria for a windstorm.
Tuesday's forecast includes more rainfall, with up to 20 mm expected to fall by the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 16 C and a low of 10 in the downtown area.
The sun is expected to peek out by Tuesday afternoon, transitioning from an unsettled, stormy weather pattern to days of clear skies and climbing temperatures.

Wednesday's forecast includes a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 17 C but Thursday is expected to see temperatures reach 20 C. On Friday, Downtown Vancouver's forecast includes a 23 C high.
A marine inflow on Saturday could produce slightly cooler temperatures in the city, while areas further inland such as Abbotsford, could see highs in the upper 20s. The marine air, influenced by the ocean, represents clouds and cooling and won't reach the inland areas by Saturday.
Thunderstorms are possible when the ridge of cool air moves in and breaks down on Saturday.
