Vancouver weather: Significant showers to make a splash this weekend

Some wet weather is expected this weekend.

The Vancouver forecast includes some bright sunshine ahead of some wet weather this weekend. 

Locals will get to enjoy a couple of days with dry conditions before some showers make their way into the city. The seven-day forecast also includes more sunshine heading out of the weekend. 

V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 23 C and a low of 17 C with bright sunshine on Thursday, Aug. 15. Friday's forecast includes a slightly cooler daytime high of 20 C and a low of 15 C with a mix of sun and cloud (see slide two).

Saturday's forecast includes a 30 per cent chance of showers, although locals may enjoy some bright sunshine and a high of 25 C during the day.

After showers intensify overnight, Sunday is expected to receive up to 17 mm of precipitation, with a high of 19 C and a low of 17 C.

Next week

Monday's forecast includes a departure from gloomy conditions, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 22 C and a low of 15 C expected. 

sturgeon supermoon will rise over the Lower Mainland on Monday, appearing bigger and brighter than most full moons. August's full moon is also considered a "seasonal" blue moon, different from the monthly ones. 

Grey weather won't go too far though; Tuesday's forecast shows grey skies with a slight chance of showers, while Wednesday will likely be wetter..
