Vancouver weather: Above-average temperatures expected over the weekend

The Vancouver weather forecast includes plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures but locals should expect some cloudy periods next week.

V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 29 C dropping to a low of 19 C on Friday, Aug. 9.

Saturday is also expected to be slightly cooler, but still warm, with a high of 24 C and a low of 18 C (see slide two) in the city.

Sunday's forecast includes a high of 22 C and a low of 17 C with some cloudy periods. 

The seven-day forecast shows more cloudy periods next week. Monday is expected to be overcast with a high of 19 C and a low of 15; there is also a 10 per cent chance of showers. 

Tuesday's forecast includes a high of 18 C and a low of 16 with more cloud coverage and a 22 per cent chance of showers.

Wednesday's forecast also includes a threat of showers with a high of 18 C and a low of 15 C. 

The sun looks like it may peek out again in Vancouver on Wednesday.
