VOKRA does not have a shelter; they provide over 300 individual foster homes which helps to protect the very young from colds, distemper, parasites and other transmissible illnesses. In a home environment, cats are safe and well socialized, with lots of love and attention.

VOKRA also has an extensive TNR program, which means they trap, spay/neuter, and work with community cats to control the homeless cat population.

		Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA) is a no-kill, non-profit, registered charity dedicated to the rescue of cats in the Lower Mainland that is run entirely by volunteers with no paid staff.

For Dorothy there really is no place like home. If you are looking for a velvety little friend to cuddle you to sleep in your bed, this is your girl.  She lives to be near her human friend and will escort you out of bed every morning with a cheery voice and soft fur around your ankles as you fix breakfast. She was found as a young kit outside with her siblings in 2010 and has been clicking her little heels together ever since awaiting her way home.

Dorothy has feline lukemia, and although this means she needs some extra care and a special diet, she is worth it for the right person who loves to take the care and be rewarded in unconditional love.
