This past summer I made THIS BLOG POST about how Avalon Dairy had released a ballot containing the names of a bunch of their fans so that people could vote for one of them to become their inaugural "Egg Nog Ambassador". As I've been writing about egg nog with much enthusiasm since the inception of our blog in 2008, I was overjoyed to be listed as a candidate and in my campaign to become the Mayor of Eggnogtown I made a promise that "if I am elected I will always make egg nog a priority on our blog. I will make sure that we deliver this hard-hitting story each year to let you know when this beverage hits the streets, and will pursue other stories that involve nog".
Now, delivering on that campaign promise I wanted to let you know that Avalon crafted their first batch of egg nog this morning (in the video below I get my grubby hands on one of the first bottles that came off the bottling line), and it'll be available in stores as early as tomorrow. You may have seen some other brands hitting the shelves early this year but good things come to those who wait; as I REPORTED on The Peak 102.7fm last year, Avalon makes the best egg nog in Vancouver. Period. I'm honoured to be their Egg Nog Ambassador and though I don't fully understand what that entails beyond having bragging rights and the honour of getting the first taste from their production run, I am so incredibly psyched.
