Shopping for a food fan this holiday season? There’s a unique offering on the market that not only showcases Vancouver small-scale food vendors, but also benefits the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

The holiday gift box hails from Commissary Connect, one of Vancouver’s top shared commercial kitchen facilities where several of the city’s most-loved food makers do their cooking and baking.

Many of Commissary Connect’s vendors are participating, and the end result is a gourmet gift basket that’s already assembled for you and ready to give, and just by giving the gift, you’re giving back to the community. Oh, and they deliver it (within Vancouver) too.

So basically you are supporting local vendors, getting delicious eats to your loved ones, and helping those with food insecurity access things to eat, too. That’s some serious Christmas spirit!

Here are the vendors you’ll find in the Commissary Connect Holiday Gift Box:

  • Tayybeh, a group of Syrian female refugee chefs showcasing beautiful and authentic dishes.
  • To Die For, whose super-moist, sweet and salty loaves are made with organic flour, olive oil and tons of pumpkin and banana–and no animal products.
  • Johnny Can’t Surf, a coffee and stroopwafel café on wheels.
  • Cookies of Course, a socially and environmentally conscious business championing cookies since 1987.
  • Livia Sweets, a small, nostalgia-baked bakery making Nona-approved treats.
  • Rolling Cashew, Vancouver’s premiere vegan food truck.
  • Live Love Eat, small batch artisan granola made with nourishing, organic ingredients. No refined sugars, no preservatives, lots of love.
  • Menina Baker, dedicated to producing high quality, hand-crafted confections made with simplicity and care.
  • Keto Munch, low-carbohydrate snacks that don’t compromise on taste. Perfectly paired with Paleo, Keto lifestyles.
  • West Coast Gourmet, preparing handmade popcorn, nuts and fne munchies for gourmands since 2010.
