Four things to do in Richmond this weekend

From a choir concert to the cherry blossom festival, there's something for everyone this weekend in Richmond.

1. Choir concert

Saturday, April 5, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Fraserview MB Church, 11295 Mellis Dr.

The Richmond Orchestra and Chorus is hosting a Brahms A German Requiem concert with a 100 voice choir, the ROCA choir, guest choir Vivaldi Chamber Sings, guest soloists and a full orchestra.

Tickets are $23 for adults, $20 for seniors and students. Group rate of $16 per person for more than six people.

2. Holi celebration

Saturday, April 5, at 1 p.m.
South Arm Park, 8680 Williams Rd.

Experience the vibrant tapestry of Indian culture at the Indians in Richmond Holid Festival this weekend.

There will be music, dance and fun with community members. The event is free for all ages.

3. Cherry Blossom Festival

Sunday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Garry Point Park, 12011 Seventh Ave.

The City of Richmond's annual cherry blossom festival returns with a full day of activities scheduled. There will be displays and demonstrations from local artisans including calligraphy, bonsai and orgami, there will also be a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

Visitors can experience ikebana (flower arrangement) and performances by Taiko drummers, folk singers and dancers.

4. Carnival at Lansdowne 

Until Sunday, April 13

The annual West Coast Amusement's Carnival is in town for one more week! The carnival is open on the weekend from noon to 10 p.m. It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Wednesday to Friday, they are open 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. They will close at 6 p.m. on the last day, Sunday, April 13
